17 / 6 / 2021 - Environmental Photography: Eye of the Storm
Environmental Photography -
Eye of the Storm by Artistic Photography was photographed as an extreme low pressure system approached the coastal region and beach on location.
Tracking the storm to photograph its intensity, I setup my tripod of the approching storm to get some environmental impact photographs and its effect on the coastline during that week. As it moved towards the coast and inland, the clouds converged over the horizon and closer to the coast. The wind was light and the ocean still calm at this stage. Within the time of adjusting my cameras settings, the full force of the storm was apparent. The rain was intense, the wind was gale force over 45 knots.
I managed however to photograph the storm apporoching before its full intensity. In the photograph you can see what appears to be the eye of the storm directly above and in a circular array of clouds in the sky.

25 / 1 / 2021 - Photographic Artworks: Jupiter, Saturn Conjunction with Meteor
New Photographic Artwork -
Jupiter, Saturn Conjunction with Meteorite was photographed during the Jupiter, Saturn Conjunction. The photograph was taken during the conjunction where Jupiter and Saturn were quite close to the horizon. The main goal was to photograph the moons of Jupiter and Saturn on that day in which a meteor appeared in the universe directly near Jupiter and Saturn which was photographed several days after first photographing the closest conjunction. Although quite visible from earth as a brighter glow, the meteor has a distinct greenish glow in the photograph as a faster shutter speed was used when focusing on the Jupiter and Saturn's moons. Other days were photographed by Artistic Photography during the Jupiter and Saturn Conjunction, however this was by far one of the most spectacular of the days in which the universe presented an amazing event in space.

25 / 1 / 2021 - Photographic Artworks: Indian Ocean Sunset Storm
New Photographic Artwork -
Indian Ocean Sunset Storm was photographed as a low pressure system and an active cyclone approached the West Coast.
To photograph the intensity of the storm forming, I chose to adjust the shutter speed to 1/2500s in order to capture the intensity of the storm approaching. It also brings out the reflection of the sunset on the calm Indian Ocean waters.

25 / 1 / 2021 - Photographic Artworks: Sunset Skyscape
New Photographic Artwork -
Sunset Skyscape was photographed after a late afternoon surf. The photograph was taken after a hot summers day with a large ocean swell producing perfect waves off a popular surf location in Western Australia and producing this magnificent sunset. The waves were quite large that day due to a storm way out in the Indian Ocean. The Ocean off Western Australia produces some of the largest and unique waves all along the vast coastline.

2 / 7 / 2020 - Environmental Photography: Kelp Mountain
New Environmental Photograph
News Press Release -
Kelp Mountain was photographed on the 2 - 7 - 2020 at a popular surfing beach along the West Coast of Australia, after noticing this an unusual spectacle on the beach on the way to an afternoon surfing session.
It was around 3 meters in height and appeared a few days after a massive storm which was brought on by strong winds and a large swell along the Indian Ocean coastline.
"What is this thing?" I thought to myself, after racing down the beach ready for a classic surf session. "Is this object, from this planet?". I was assessing from a distance and I just had to photograph this object.
It was there in its own mass. A mountain of some sort, in the middle of nowhere, along the beach. On closer inspection, it was Kelp combined with Seagrass. A vital part of the ocean and a huge part of the oceans sustainability. Deep in the ocean it provides food and shelter for an array of marine life and oxygen for the planet, Earth.
The previous storms had washed the individual kelp and seagrass onto the beach and shoreline. The oceans powerful waves and water turbulence had created this mountain over several days of high tides and switching currents, which helped produce this single mountain spectacle of the oceans natural seagrass and kelp.
These powerful oceans storms are becoming more frequent in the Indian Ocean and along the West Coast of Western Australia and as part of my photographic folio on Environmental impacts, I have photographed thousands of images of these types of unusual phenomena in the ocean and on land.

20 / 12 / 2020 - Photographic Artworks: Moon Glow Halo
Astro Photography -
Moon Glow Halo was photographed a week after the Geminids Meteor Shower of 2020.
During the Geminids Meteor Shower of 2020, the Moon had a greenish hue around the atmosphere which was more visible during the night as there was less light pollution in the atmosphere. Star fields were also more visible around the moon which shined through the greenish atmosphere with a halo of light reflecting off the moons surface producing a purplish glow. During the Geminids Meteor Shower of 2020 the Universe displayed some amazing phenomena.
